With a rich history dating back to 1920, F.lli Razeto and Casareto S.p.a has been designing and manufacturing locks and door accessories. In 2000, they established the Innovation & Design lab with the aim of revolutionizing the world of door handles. Their latest creation, Ossh, is a testament to their commitment to innovation. This multifunctional door handle system is equipped with unprecedented applications, including a patented cable-free power and data transfer system that illuminates the door handles, providing extra signage for safety and management information.
Ossh stands out for its unique properties. It is designed to light up in critical conditions, guiding people to safe escape routes. The system is available in kits: Stand Alone for privacy, Wired for fire doors, and Wi-fi for integration into domotic systems. The applications are countless and customizable to meet specific needs. Moreover, Ossh features esi, a permanent antimicrobial anodic protection that has been tested and certified to kill the coronavirus, thereby sanitizing the environment and the hand while opening the door.
The Ossh system comprises a lock and striker plate with a power and data transfer device, a pair of door handles with escutcheons, an rgb led stripe, and an acrylic insert for light diffusion. The handles are made of light alloy 6082 anticorodal, finished with the esi antimicrobial system. The handle dimensions are 131x35x55 mm.
The design process for Ossh began in Sori in 2018 and concluded in 2020. The project was showcased at the Salone Nautico di Genova in September 2020. The antimicrobial properties were studied in Narni at Paolini S.p.A. and certified with laboratory tests at the University of Modena e Reggio during the lockdown and the pandemic. The design team, led by Giangi Razeto, faced creative, technical, and research challenges, but their efforts have resulted in a product that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and safe.
Ossh is more than just a door handle. It is an intuitive lighting interface on the door that indicates escape routes in critical conditions, communicates management information, and performs a 24/7 disinfecting action through the emission of silver and other metallic ions. The sanitation is due to the Esi anti microbial system, a technology that kills the coronavirus, tested and certified by the laboratory of virology at the University of Modena e Reggio. This multifunctional handle is available in kits to be fitted in different environments: Stand Alone for privacy, Wired for fire doors, and Wi-fi to be integrated into domotic systems.
In conclusion, Ossh is a groundbreaking design that combines safety, management, and antimicrobial features in a door handle. It is a testament to F.lli Razeto and Casareto S.p.a's commitment to innovation and design excellence. The Ossh door handle system is set to revolutionize the way people perceive and interact with door handles, making them not just functional but also a key component of safety and management in buildings.
